Dear Julie Cyra,
I really appreciated Amanda's help picking out a saddle for my two horses Dillon and Geronimo at the Minnesota Horse Expo. Amanda is very knowledgeable about the Big Horn saddle line that you carry. My ultimate goal was to fit my bay tobiano Paint horse cross Dillon that deserved a break from years of trying to find the right saddle and the bonus is it fits my black and white Tennessee Walker cross. It is wonderful that my dear old friend will finally be saved from the nightmare below and my new horse will be okay too.
[list of previous saddles]
I also appreciated knowing that if the saddle did not fit I could bring it back to the Expo the next day for a full refund. It gave me the confidence to give it a try and now my horses will benefit.
The new breast collar arrived, and it fits my horse perfectly. It also matches my saddle, and seems to have been the missing link. Your pad recommendations are working well, too.
I really appreciate how much time you have taken with me and my horse to ensure the right saddle fit, and I do love the Crates saddle. You really do stand behind your merchandise, and I am a very satisfied customer. Thank you very much.
Hi Julie.... my friend Lisa and I met you at Equine Affair. We're the girls from Canada lol. Anyhow... we just wanted to thank you again for sharing your wisdom and for improving the lives of horses everywhere. We love the new saddle... Axel loves it even more. We can't believe how it just molds to his body and stays put. He actually has room for his big old shoulders to move freely. I will be contacting you again soon to pick out a saddle for my horse !! Just need to save up some cash. I feel guilty riding in my [previous saddle] now lol. Take care. Talk to you soon.
Alyson and Lisa
I received the saddle and billets/cinch. OMG it is more beautiful than I thought it would be! Thank you so much! I will recommend you to my friends. And look for you if I am ever out your way. Thanks again.
Hi Tracy & Julie,
I made it there yesterday to pick up the boots and absolutely love them. I wore them out of the store. Thank you so much for your willingness to order them for me. I hope the additional pairs you ordered sell quickly! I also receive compliments every time I wear the red distressed Johnny Ringo boots.
Thanks again for your great customer service.
Thank you very much for your followup. I am so excited about the Lane boots!
Also, many thanks to both you and your staff for the wonderful shopping experience we had last Saturday. I wore my new boots and top the next day to church and out shopping and received many compliments. Of course, I made sure everyone knew where I got them! I'll send you a pic!
I look forward to hearing more about the Lane boots.
Hi Julie and staff, just finished the AGB horse on July 15, A very hot day, but as always lots of fun, We really liked the judge Joe Pribek, IV as he pointed out the good things and the bad things. And, gave us suggestions on how to improve. Not all judges do that and this is very helpful for the future, and does not leave us wondering.
Love coming to West 20!!!!!! THANK YOU. See you Aug 11.
Dear Melissa and the other saddlefitters, thanks for all your time and
patience! I want to let you know the saddle fits, looks amazing and it is
spectacularly comfortable. Kay is so hard to fit, and then there is me, but
throughout the whole thing we had a good time. I learned alot. You ladies
impressive. I'll send a pic or maybe just come up. thanks again, Hope (the
traditionalist, that was funny)
I just wanted to get a message to Tracy and the other gal (not sure the name of the one helping us at first) in the tack shop who helped my daughter find the perfect hat to match her showmanship outfit last week. She wore it to the Cap Gun Circuit Quarter horse show over the weekend and it looked amazing. Thanks for shaping it Tracy and for the information you shared regarding QH showing. We are very new to this and anything we can learn is helpful.
Melanie Carpenter ( Sydney's Mom) ;)
Jayn and I picked up our high point awards at the FRSC show on Sunday 8/14. We just want you to know how much we appreciate all the prizes you made available at the Memorial Show and how thrilled we are to get the high points. We always have fun at all the West20 shows.
Thanks again from both Jayn Bowers and Sue Baldukas
Just wanted to let you know the Bowman saddle that I got from you this weekend fits Desperado like a glove. In the Foxtrotter breed Demo Sunday, he gaited and cantered better than ever before. I knew the saddle I was using was good fitting except the skirt was just a little too long. The new Bowman opened up his shoulder area and he really stretches out and it has opened up his canter like never before. We had so much success with the one we got last year and that is why I had to get one for him, even though he is mutton withered.
It is a pleasure doing business with you, We have recommended many people to you this last year. I would be proud to give a testimonial on Bowman saddles and the great service West 20 offers and your time and patience's you provide for your customers. Thank you and looking forward to doing business with you again soon. I hope the show was a great success for you all.
Just to let you know I had my first trail ride on Monday in my new Crates saddle. I went for 2 hours, no breaks, and felt as good at the end of the ride as the beginning! Lexie, my walking horse, was great and gaited right on down the trail with no complaints. I also used my contoured pad from you and the saddle fit like a glove.
I love I - it was worth the wait!
Thank you for your patience with me. This is an expensive purchase and I needed to make sure I had the saddle that fit both my horse and me. I very much appreciate all your assistance!
Thank you so much for letting us use your facility for the [SKMHTA] Fun Show! Your generosity is helping us reach our goal.
We would have been lost without the help of Tracy, Jenn and Emily. They worked so hard and did a fantastic job.
At the hearing with Walworth County, I remembered you telling the board that the shows you provide are something the whole family can attend and are very affordable. I saw that was very true. One of the mothers came up to me and thanked us for having the show, she said her daughter was having the time of her life! It was great seeing everyone have so much fun.
Thank you again! You will have your own plaque or 2 at the campground when the electricity gets put in.
Just wanted to share a picture of my beautiful mule "Jackie O'Asses" in her new digs. I love my saddle. I have put several miles on it and I have to so I have been bragging. Thanks for all the time you put into me just sitting there in the saddle rack.
Hello West 20,
I just wanted to say thank you to Sarah for her patience on Sunday. I came to the Open House with the goal of beginning to determine what saddle would be correct for me and my horse and with her help, as well as Julie's, I did just that. Not once did I feel pressured toward a sale and even though it was busy Sarah made me feel like she had all the time in the world to answer my questions. Now, it is on to a saddle fitting and I will call to schedule a time when, at your convenience, you can hopefully come to my place and see what fits my horse the best.
Customer service is seemingly a dying art form but not at West 20. It really makes all the difference in the world and it is definitely appreciated. Well done Sarah! Also, the woman cashing out all the happy shoppers was excellent - sorry, I don't know her name.
What can I say? I love you!! I am the woman at the Lansing Expo who bought the Crates saddle w/a Circle Y trade-in after MUCH thought and discussion. I have ridden my new saddle five times already and I truly love it. I cannot begin to tell you how much you educated and inspired me in countless ways. I have been riding/showing since I was two years old and no one, in all that time, after countless experts and lessons, has made more sense to me than you. You have left a wonderful mark on me as a person and also as a horse owner. It was such an honor to meet you, see your saddle fitting clinic and to have such wonderful one on one time with you. I so dearly wish you were closer to me.
Please know you forever have a friend in Harrison, Michigan. You are welcome to come see me or stay with me anytime...and your horse too:).
To Julie and Tracy,
..cannot thank you enough for giving me the skills and courage needed to do what I'm doing. Have had two 2-hour rides at D Spur ranch in Apache Junction - Tonia was my trail boss last year and told me "Wow girl, you've come a long way." The owner put me on one of her favorite horses and asked me to ride drag to keep an eye on the greenhorns. On one ride, Casey a rider since age 8 told me I "look real good."
...I never could have done it without you.
Met you this past weekend at the Equifest in Wichita... You "made" me sit in a barrel saddle with the red gator seat, and that was the best thing I have done, when it comes to finding a new saddle!
You measured the length of my leg to my knee and explained all the why's about the correct size. Thank you... no one has ever explained that to me and I have been riding for 30 years!!
Thank you Julie...you were very informative!!
Dodge City, KS
I just wanted to say thank you so much for the time that you and Sarah spent with me on my two visits to your store to pick out a new saddle. This was my first new saddle purchase in the 38 years that I've owned horses and I wanted to make sure that I bought a trail saddle that fit both me and my horse. On my first visit, Sarah taught me so much about the various trail saddles and, on my second visit with my horse, you again taught me more about saddle fitting. You, your staff, and your store are great!
I just wanted to give you an update on Barley. He is doing so awesome. This picture was taken at the 2009 Wisconsin NBHA State Finals in Madison. What the picture doesn't show is that his next move was to get back under me, as I didn't "sit and go with him" for the turn. You cannot put a price tag on that. He saved me. I will forever be grateful for your part in making sure we found each other. He is my HERO!!
Hello to Julie and Staff,
The gaited horse show on July 18 was GREAT, keep up the good work. The shows at West 20 are affordable and fun, without the stress. The staff was so helpful, the barn is very nice. I heard nothing but positive comments, and I wouldn't hesitate to return again. Keep up the good work.
Once again, thank you for a very well run show by your terrific staff. Terry and I told them afterwards that everything just runs so smoothly and all have fun at these shows, which is as it should be...
I think it's a given that these shows are a success... AND, we had some new faces, too.
Thanks, again. See you soon.
Thank you to West 20 for hosting such a fun show for our very special horses! Your staff was great - helpful, friendly and patient. See you again soon.
The Hutchings Family
I wanted to thank you for all the things you have done for me. I have done business with you for many years, and have never been disappointed. Your Honesty, Reputation, and Expertise speaks for itself. You matched me with the perfect horse, Lexi , is my best friend.
I visited West 20 recently to purchase a new saddle. The young lady that helped me was very knowledgeable and took the time not only to make me feel like I was important, but to explain how the saddle should fit me and Lexi. This is my first English saddle, so that was important because I have always ridden Western. The hour and a half drive is truly worth it!!!
Thank you Again
Just got home from the Stallion Expo in Lansing,we took in your saddle fitting seminar and I have to say it was one of the best I have heard, you covered the subject clearly and answered all the questions.
I just wanted to let you know that Dixie was a hero last Wednesday. An older mare in her herd went down with colic and the stall cleaner was there by herself. She kept trying to get the mare up and couldn't do it by herself. Sara said that Dix had been watching her and after about 5 min. she approached the mares hind end and began poking and biting the mare until she got up. Then Sara said that Dix followed the mare as she led her to the gate poking and biting at her when ever she tried to stop. Dix is just so awesome! She is boss in her herd and doesn't allow any fighting amoung her group. Even when we put a new horse in she will stand between the new horse and the others to protect the new horse. Like I said...she is an awesome girl and a GREAT partner!
If you ever want to go into the birthday party hosting business, let me know. Julian and her friends had the best time, they are all still talking about it and a few of them told their mothers upon pick up time at our house that they wanted to have their birthdays at your place. Tracy and Caryn were awesome! Rueben and Preacher were so good.
We thanks you so much for allowing the party and making Julian ssssssoooooo happy! I’m sure she’ll email you herself to tell you all about it.
I just wanted to let you know that my family had a great time at the show on Sunday and really appreciated all of the help and patience from your staff. I am especially grateful to Jen who helped my daughter fix her bit while I went into a class.
We look forward to the next show!
I stopped by West 20 today for the first time and I have to say that I was impressed! Not only with the store, but with the Sara who helped me in the search for a new saddle. She was so knowledgable and helpful. Even though I didn't buy one today, when I do decide to do so, I will be back your way. What I really appreciated was her encouragement when I mentioned I would like to go back to school for vet tech. 50-something girls like me really can use that positive conversation.
To our friends at West 20 Ranch and Saddle Company,
Please accept my sincerest thank you on behalf of Wisconsin Ranch Horse Association for your recent class sponsorship. It's an honor to announce your sponsorship, and we're grateful for your enthusiasm in helping us to promote Wisconsin's premiere horse association...
I can't thank you enough for the donation of West 20 for my benefit. It make me feel so uncomfortable, and grateful all at the same time. I can only imagine the amount of time you spent preparing for an all day horseshow.
Your facility is gorgeous and the people you have on staff are absolutely wonderful. I am so grateful that we had a beautiful fall day and such a wonderful turn out. I hope hope it was a good day for your store as well. One good turn begets another.
Thank you for your generosity and your time. To me, it is priceless...
...So, all I can say is "THANK YOU."
Dear Ms. Cyra,
I stopped at your new facility the other day, and was favorably impressed. The young lady in charge gave me a nice tour. You have done a good job in planning, and then a good job in executing the plan.
Just wanted to take the time and drop you a short note to say thank you for the wonderfully run Horse Show that you and your staff did! Some of our Arabian Class "A" shows could take a lesson or two from your group.

Dear West 20,
I am an eighth grade student that is practicing writing business letters for English class. Everybody in my class had to choose a company or store to write to. I chose to write to you because I think that you guys have an awesome tack store. I love coming to your place because everyone there is polite and helpful, everything that I need for my horse is in one place, and you guys have really cool items.
I am also writing to you because of your horse shows. I have shown at your place for a couple of years and I really enjoy it. There was always tension and confusion at all of the other shows that I went. At your place I can relax, enjoy myself, and have fun!
...Thank you for being an awesome tack store and reading my letter!
Dear Julie Cyra,
On behalf of the UW-Saddle & Sirloin Club, we would like to sincerely thank you for the generous sponsorship that we received from you to benefit our 3rd Annual Kickin' Up Dust Speed Show.
...This show would not be a success without support and contributions from sponsors like you. The sponsorships and entry fees are paid back to [competitors] in the form of cash payout prizes for the individual classes. We greatly rely on these sponsorships to assist in covering the costs of running a show of this size.

I love you guys! Everyone is very nice and the horses are outstanding!
I got some great new pictures of Lexi and myself. Hope they come through ok. She is awesome, we had so much fun together yesterday. I still can't believe how nice she is to ride. I usually ride alone, and she loves it, just her and me. What a pleasure it is to go by her after a long day at work. I can't say enough about what a great addition she is to my life.
Have a Wonderful Day
We just wanted to send you a quick thank you for making the new addition to the family a perfect match. We could not be happier with Ruby; her temperament and skill level far exceed our expectations for such a young horse. This is our first horse and the knowledge that you showed us during the process was one of many deciding factors when it came to acquiring Ruby, you truly show your compassion for these animals and it shows in the product that you produce. I could not have found a better horse even if I was kicked by one. Ruby is a gem that has enormous potential to be great and known by many. Our goals for Ruby are to honor her bloodline and make sure that she is doing a job that she enjoys and loves. We have only had Ruby for a week now and we already know that when it comes to acquiring another horse we are going to look your way. Please pass along my thanks to the many people that took the time to make this horse the horse it is, I
appreciate all of them as well.
Thank you for everything, you have gained a customer for a lifetime.
Chris & Colleen Carie
I just wanted to say Thank You so much for helping me find a saddle that fits Quixote. We've been to two shows now with our Crates and our time has improved tremendously! We literally shaved 1.5seconds off our time and went from the 4th division to winning the second division! We are now only .5 a second off of the leader and with room to improve! We're going to aim for the NBHA Wisconsin State finals next year.
Most importantly, Quixote is happy, he doesn't pin his ears when I ask for a lope anymore and he has no indication of soreness through his back... even at the end of a full 2 days of barrel racing! That's proof in itself that a good saddle makes all the difference.
Stephanie and Quixote
I just spoke with your Dad for the umpteenth time today about the most wonderful horse in the world, and I thought that it was about time that I sat down and wrote and told you, too!
You well know that when I purchased Daisy from you last April, my riding experiences had left me without a lot of confidence. But I couldn't have found a better partner to help me through that than Daisy...
You knew what I needed in a horse and by some crazy miracle, Daisy was still there for me and a year later, I don't think there are words to describe the incredible relationship we have. With the help of a great trainer, Polly Hall, we have come so far and I know we will do so many great things together.
...to have a horse like Daisy has been more than a dream come true. She is everything you said she would be and 1000% more...and I can't tell you how blessed and lucky I feel every day I go to the barn and stand out in the pasture as she putters along to come see me! She is by far the smartest and sweetest mare that anyone has met - and they are always amazed when I tell them she's just turned 5 (her disposition has people thinking she's an 8 to 10 year old!)
Thank you? Well, it just doesn't begin to cover it, but if I could say it a million times over, that's how thankful I am, for you and for bringing Daisy into this world! She is one of the best parts of every day, and I am so grateful that she's a part of my life.
I wanted to say thank you for helping me pick a saddle last Sunday to use riding Poco. I've used it twice this week and I'm thrilled with it, both in its comfort and looks. It fits Poco perfect, and I love the new girth.
Hope to see you next time I stop in.
Thanks again so much,
thanks so much for the nice show yesterday! We had a lot of fun. It was very well run and the facility is so nice! The staff is laid back, helpful & friendly. All of which contributed to our nice day.
Jayn Bowers and I would like to thank you for the year-end awards. Her and I have had a ton of fun at all the shows. Our four grandchildren and our grown children have gotten to show also. The shows are well run, priced for family fun, the grounds are great and the food GOOD. See you next year. THANKS
Just wanted to update you on Lexi. She is doing fantastic!! It was her 4th Birthday, this past Saturday. What a wonderful Mare.. She will do anything, and go anywhere. We have done alot of trail riding, and arena work. She seems to just love working. I have used her to shut a gate with her body, and goes quietly over bridges. We have not used oucr new horse trailer yet, but I am sure she will love it. I cannot thank you enough for matching us up, she is perfect for me.
Thanks to Julie's saddle fitting knowledge and assistance, we bought a saddle for my mutton-withered horse at 2007 Equine Affaire in Columbus, Ohio. We took it home and tried it out-it fit me and my horse perfectly!
I enjoyed the saddle fitting seminar that was held in Lansing, Michigan at the Horse Expo.
I bought a turquoise Billy Cook barrel saddle from you from the Equifest Of Kansas in February and
I'm pleased to tell you that I ABSOLUTELY love it.
Attended a seminar with Julie in East Lansing, MI. Loved the seminar. Julie was great. Very good information. It made the $25.00 parking ticket I got worth it.
Hope to she does more seminars here in the future.
I saw Julie at the Michigan Horse Council's 24th Annual International Stallion Exhibition and Trade Show on Friday, March 9,2007. I was very impressed with her knowledge of saddles and saddle fitting. I am thinking of coming to visit so that I may get just the right saddle for me and my horse.
Met you at the Illinois Horse Fair, we sold bbq pork sandwiches in your building. I bought a pinchless bit for my mare. Tried it out Saturday at lessons and I think my mare did really well in it. Boy, did she stop good. She is lazy, so stopping isn`t much of an issue, but she was stopped before I was even set- with very litle pressure. She seemed real relaxed in it. I`m so glad I bought it, and I got one for my other mare too. Can`t wait to try it! I think Buffy helped me, I`m not great on names, but tell her thanks. Better git,
Julie - I love your place and I am always sending people your way.
Lexi has settled in nicely. She is quite the attraction at the barn. Everyone can't believe how quiet and accepting she is. I rode her around the property, as well as the indoor. She just takes everything in, and goes along perfectly. Today I rode in the indoor, while they were cleaning stalls. I was trotting her along, as he started up the fourwheeler, with the manure wagon attached, she just kept going as if it was not there. Some of the other boarders were on their horses, and were headed out to the trails, and I told them to just leave, to see how she would react. She didn't even care that they left us behind. WOW what a keeper. She loves to be brushed and pampered.
I truly love her, and cant thank you enough for everything. I think I will need to do some shopping again very soon. LOL
I will keep you up to date on our adventures.
Patti (And Lexi )
Hi. My name is Denise Taylor, and my husband Micheal picked up a saddle West 20 had custom-made for my daughter Amanda. It is absolutely beautiful! Who ever made this saddle did a awesome job! My daughter (and my whole family) are extremely pleased with it, it was well worth the wait! Thanks for all the help you gave us picking out all the details of the saddle!
